So Little Time, So Much to Do: Videos are the Real Performers



Hasty millennials! They won't stop to read. And they don't have patience for a video over 15 seconds. Unless, of course, it is Star Wars. No wonder a lot of businesses are disappointed with the ROI their website videos bring to them. Only the most focused and creative video marketers can satisfy viewers' need for instant gratification.

I totally respect this wish to grasp everything in minimum amount of time. However, 15 seconds is too short a time for the multiple tasks that a video has to perform: it starts off by grabbing viewer attention, and maintaining it till the end. It has to give away enough information for the audience to understand their subject matter, but only enough so that they are intrigued. Also, no business video is complete without effective persuasion. All of this without overwhelming the audience, that's the real challenge. Give or take up to 10 seconds, 30 seconds is the ideal length for a video.
